Main Street Live is a free summer concert series that brings great music, community, and a whole lot of energy to downtown Cortland. Formerly known as the Cortland Main Street Music Series, the event has become a longstanding tradition that celebrates the incredible musical talent found throughout Cortland and Central New York.

For years, the series has been supported by Beginnings Credit Union (formerly CFCU), whose commitment to the community has helped make Main Street Live possible. After a brief hiatus, the concerts are back and better than ever, along with the revitalization of downtown Cortland itself and Main Street's transformation from a one-way corridor into a bustling gathering place for residents and visitors once again.

At its core, Main Street Live is about bringing people together through music while supporting the continued growth of downtown Cortland. By showcasing local and regional artists and encouraging people to spend time downtown, the series helps strengthen the connection between our community, our businesses, and the unique character that makes Cortland such a special place to live, work, and visit.

Brian Thomas is a folk musician whose music resonates with listeners from all walks of life. Drawing inspiration from the rich storytelling traditions of folk music, Brian weaves narratives that explore themes of love, loss, and the beauty of nature.
Brian is now backed by a band coined “The Strikes” comprised of Jeff Ingersoll on pedal steel and mandolin, Mike Teixeira on electric guitar, Michael Fishman on drums, and Mike Sloan on bass. This dynamic group blends new indie/folk songwriting with classic country and rock n roll sounds.
Brian Thomas and the Strikes perform Friday, July 10th at 7:30pm.

“The unstoppable funk hip hop dance party”
Straight from national TV to the festival stage, Sophistafunk brings their explosive mashup of funk, hip hop, jam, soul, and electronic grooves back to Cortland Music Series! As seen weekly on Food Network’s newest game show “Guy’s Ultimate Game Night”, this genre-defying trio has rocked everything from Electric Forest and Camp Bisco to BoomTown and Shambala in the UK.
Endorsed by Guy Fieri, now a household name on the festival circuit, Sophistafunk delivers high-octane performances with keyboard wizardry, gospel-infused drums, and powerful lyrics that move both your feet and your spirit. All from their homes in beautiful Upstate New York! Whether you’re a diehard music head or just looking for the funkiest party around — this is the one band that you don’t want to miss!

Made up of tight musicians with deep local roots, Dead & Friends thrive on connection, not just with each other, but with the crowd.
Their sets are unpredictable in the best way: familiar songs become jumping-off points for deep grooves, call-and-response moments, and the kind of live magic you just can’t capture in a recording. It’s the kind of show you feeL, not just hear.
The lineup features CNY natives Evan Geibel and Aaron Fumerola, along with Jordan Del Rosario, known both for his previous work with the indie-psych group Cheers Elephant and for founding the band Dead & Friends on his eastward journey back from the west coast. Jordan’s return to Central New York has added a spark to the band’s sound and to the local music scene itself."
Dead & Friends performs Friday, July 17th at 6pm.

The set list includes favorites such as Weezer, Stone Temple Pilots, Gin Blossoms and many more along with a few 80s, 00s and hard-hitting originals.
As an acoustic duo with Bradford Allen (lead guitar, vocals), Römer has performed hundreds of shows from dive bars to festival stages and opened for national acts such as Ed Kowalczyk (Live) and Kevin Griffin (Better than Ezra).
Looking to complete the full sound, Römer and Allen joined forces in 2022 with Central New York rock veterans Nate Horton (drums) and Loren Leonard (bass).
